    Review by Susan Byrne

    Very good, recommended

I took a long time to pick out the right travel system, and spent ages doing research on the internet and by asking friends for recommendations etc. I decided to go with this one and am very happy with it. There are many reasons I like it so much: It pushes very easily and is very smooth and easy to turn corners. The wheels are very good; they are rubber and are very thick and also silent, which is important. I bought the four-wheel version, but there is a newer three-wheel version too. Our paths here are quite bumpy and can be hard to negotiate, but this does the trick with ease. Also, the handlebar can be shortened or extended easily, which is great because I am quite short but my partner is tall. The car seat and carry-cot are both extremely easy to fit onto the base - just one click and they fit into place. They are easy to remove too. The rack underneath for groceries etc is very handy and of adequate size. The whole thing is very easy to fold and open out, which is important for me as I only have one usable arm, and the base is also quite light, and I am able to lift it out of the boot of the car with one arm. Bearing in mind the possibility of a caesarean section (which I had) it's important for mothers to have a base which can be lifted easily in and out of the car, and folded easily. Our baby is only four weeks old now, so we haven't had a chance to convert it into a buggy yet; therefore I can't say much about this part of the travel system. Our baby seems to find the car seat comfortable, and usually drops off to sleep when he is in it. We have found that the car seat is also quite easy to strap into the car too. We chose the red colour pack as we didn't know if we were having a boy or a girl, and it's relatively easy to fit the coloured parts on. In general, I am very happy with this product, and am glad I bought it. Compared to other pushchairs that I tried out in the shops, or ones belonging to friends/family, I think it is very easy to manoeuvre and use. There are a few things however that I wish were different about it, however, and these are: The carry-cot part, which looks great and is a great size, seems to tilt ever so slightly downwards at the head end, meaning that when baby is in it, his head is slightly lower than his body. It seems to be like this even when he is not in it, so it's not just the weight of him. It only tilts by about a couple of inches, but it means I have to pad the head-end of the carry-cot with layers of folded blankets so that he is not actually tilted when he is in it. Also, the carry-cot does not have any sort of straps or restraints, meaning that when baby is in it, he is just lying there (as opposed to when he is in the car-seat part, when he is fully strapped in). Some people have told me they don't think straps are necessary in a carry-cot, but I disagree, because supposing a wheel came off, or a stray football knocked into the pram as we were walking, I would prefer to think that baby would be safely secured should the pram topple or fall over for any reason (maybe that's just me being paranoid!) Also, it would be great if there was some sort of hook for a handbag or changing bag, although the changing bag sits perfectly well slung over the push-bar. The only other thing I found slightly annoying about this product is that the instruction book is not very good for assembly. There really isn't much assembling of parts to do, but the book is mostly in various different languages and gives no clear instructions in English. Instead, it shows diagrams which are not very good. I had to go on the internet and look up other branded travel systems in order to find out how to loosen and tighten the straps in the car seat, so that we could fit the baby in. The instruction book gave absolutely no instructions whatsoever on how to do this - it didn't even mention it at all - and to me that is the most important function of the whole car seat! I would recommend this product - definitely - but I think people who are thinking of buying it should be aware of these few things before they buy it. I cannot find any other fault with it, and would probably still buy it if I could go back in time, as it is very good for the money compared with other brands.
